Richmond IN to Marysville, OH
108.16 miles in 5 hrs and 46 min

A long day, but not too much climbing until the last 25 miles and then not severe. Legs not too bad. We had alot of fun in the pace line particularly when the whirling dervish (Tracy, the tour company owner) joined us for around 40 miles. She doesn't get to ride much, but really enjoys it when she does and is a great cheerleader out there.
We entered obvious Amish country today and saw our first buggy clopping down the road. They really live their faith. Still it is strange to see them working in the gardens and fields with hand equipment. Laverne, who knows alot about the Amish, says they reject machines, cars and electricity because it tends to break up their community which is paramount to them
Jim,
ReplyDeleteWe need to see a picture of Tracy in her cycling togs. Last year, her back was giving her problems and she didn't ride.

Jim,
ReplyDeleteHow did she get to the front of the paceline? She never does it at home! In Utah tonight and rode a little after arriving here. My 35th state to ride in. Planned to ride in Wyoming also, but it was 44 and raining in the town I planned to do it in. See you soon.
Tom
It's funny that I can still tell who the riders are without reading the names on the caption.
ReplyDeleteJim,
ReplyDeleteI think that is "mowed" with a shredder attached to a tractor. And for those enviro crazies, don't worry their trees are sucking up lots of carbon.
